One of my favorites is the glow-in-the-dark tape. I've done a lot of work in power plants, paper mills and oil refineries. Having a method for delivering information in an emergency situation when the lights go out, is critical. Not just during the nightime... in most cases no outside light is available. When the power goes out, no matter what time of day it is it gets dark, except for emergency the lighting. Having labels and signs that glow in the dark, without requiring an outside power source, is an ideal way for delivering needed information right at the point where it is needed.
